Early life and background

Agarwal was born in New Delhi in 1969. She was born into a Punjabi family although she grew up in Madras. She is a Gold Medalist in Psychology, from Delhi University.

Career

Agarwal was paired opposite Rahul Roy, a new comer for her first movie, Aashiqui. She received a Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Nomination for the role. She also appeared in "King Uncle" with Jackie Shroff and The Cloud Door directed by Mani Kaul. After 1996, she shifted her focus on to South Indian films.
